As Junior Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the senior kitchen team to deliver consistently high standards in Burgess Hill. You'll run sections, support service and help the restaurant produce quality modern British dishes, seasonal specials and food for private events.
You will:
Prepare, cook and present high-quality fresh food
Run kitchen sections and maintain standards during service
Help create seasonal menus and daily specials
Support the planning and delivery of functions and events
Assist with ordering, stock control, cost control and gross profit
Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and kitchen organisation
Work closely with the front-of-house team
Mentor junior team members as your responsibilities developWhat we're looking for
The successful Junior Sous Chef will have solid experience within a quality restaurant or gastropub and be ready to develop their leadership and commercial skills.
You'll also need:
Experience working with fresh, seasonal produce
Confidence running a section during busy services
Creativity and an interest in menu development
Strong organisation and attention to detail
A reliable, flexible and team-focused approach
Your own transport
