Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an Education Officer to join Cheshire East Council on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities

Lead on the Local Authority's statutory duties relating to Elective Home Education (EHE).

Monitor the education and wellbeing of children who are educated other than at school and take appropriate action where concerns are identified.

Work with schools and advise them on their responsibilities and the correct procedures for EHE referrals.

Work directly with parents, children, schools and other agencies, providing advice, support and signposting where appropriate.

Establish and maintain accurate records of children who are educated other than at school, using effective tracking and referral systems.

Use appropriate legal procedures, including School Attendance Orders, where parents do not satisfy the Local Authority that a child is receiving a suitable education.

Collect and analyse information and data relating to EHE and Romany Gypsy and Traveller families.

Arrange and participate in meetings with families, schools and partner organisations.
Requirements:

Experience working with families and young people.

Good knowledge and understanding of safeguarding.

Experience working with partner agencies and professionals.
