Overview

We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a flatbed lorry to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers to utilise their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.

Duties

Safely operate a Class 2 HGV lorry, predominantly with a flatbed configuration, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
Plan and execute delivery routes, ensuring timely collection and drop-off of goods
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly
Secure cargo appropriately on the flatbed to prevent movement during transit, ensuring compliance with safety standards
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with legal requirements
Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays
Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, following health and safety protocols

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods
Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
Ability to navigate efficiently using GPS or traditional maps
Good organisational skills to plan routes effectively and manage delivery schedules
Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when required
Prior experience as a delivery driver is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where necessary
