Job Description:
The successful Electrical Design Engineer will support the design, development, integration, and validation of advanced engineering systems and products. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, the Electrical Design Engineer will contribute to both new product development and continuous improvement activities across existing platforms.
Key responsibilities include:

Designing and documenting complex electrical and electronic systems and architectures

Supporting system integration, testing, validation, and optimisation of prototype tools

Preparing technical requirements documentation and managing verification activities

Collaborating with mechanical, software, and electrical engineering teams to deliver complete system solutions

Supporting interface design including communications, cabling, and component integration

Identifying and resolving system design issues to improve product performance and reliability

Managing external suppliers and specialist contractors where required

Supporting production teams with calibration processes, testing procedures, and technical training

Ensuring engineering activities comply with relevant industry standards and regulations

Skills & experience:

Degree qualified in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience.

Minimum 5 years’ experience within Electrical/Electronics Engineering.

Previous experience within a Systems Engineer position or similar technical role.

Strong understanding of electrical and electronic system architecture.

Experience with motion control and high-accuracy motion systems.

Knowledge of testing, validation, and system integration activities.

Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Understanding of industry standards and regulatory compliance.

Experience with optical systems or PLC systems would be advantageous
