Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Manchester

We’re currently working with a leading engineering business operating across the UK water and wastewater sector, who are looking to appoint an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing design team.
This is a great opportunity for an electrical engineer with around 3–5 years’ design experience who is looking to develop their technical career while working on a range of water and wastewater projects.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary design team, you’ll be responsible for producing high-quality electrical design deliverables and supporting projects from concept through to construction.
Your responsibilities will include:

Producing electrical designs in line with safety, quality and client requirements

Preparing electrical calculations, drawings, reports and technical specifications

Developing LV electrical designs for water and wastewater treatment projects

Working closely with CAD technicians to produce accurate and coordinated drawings

Liaising with equipment suppliers, manufacturers and other engineering disciplines

Ensuring designs comply with relevant British Standards, legislation and client specifications

Supporting design reviews, risk assessments and value engineering activities

Managing design changes throughout project delivery

Attending client, supplier and internal design meetings

Continuing to develop your technical knowledge through mentoring, CPD and professional development
We’re looking for someone with:

A Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

3–5 years’ electrical design experience within the UK water industry
-
Experience producing LV electrical designs for water or wastewater treatment projects
-
Good knowledge of relevant British Standards and water industry design practices
-
Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
-
Experience working within a multidisciplinary design environment

A full UK driving licence
It would also be beneficial if you have experience with:

ICA, control systems or telemetry
-
ATEX design principles
-
Amtech, Trimble ProDesign or similar electrical design software
-
BIM processes and Common Data Environments such as ProjectWise or Autodesk Construction Cloud
-
Working towards IEng or CEng status
