Job Title: Residential Care Worker Children (Autism and ESBD) - Ebbw Vale
Location: Ebbw Vale
We are recruiting for a Residential Care Worker Children (Autism and ESBD) in Ebbw Vale to support children and young people with Autism (ASD) and Emotional, Social and Behavioural Difficulties (ESBD). As a Residential Care Worker Children (Autism and ESBD) in Ebbw Vale, you will work as part of an integrated team to deliver high-quality Residential Childcare, promote safeguarding, and support positive outcomes, including strong inspection readiness.
Salary and Hours
£36,360 per annum
Full-time, 24-hour shifts on a rolling 3-week rota (flexibility required, including bank holidays)
Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people with ASD, ESBD and complex needs

Act as a key worker, building trusted relationships and promoting emotional wellbeing

Support therapeutic approaches including attachment-informed practice and PACE
-
Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour (physical and emotional) in line with policies and risk assessments

Complete placement plans, risk assessments, and health and safety checks

Work closely with senior staff, providing feedback and contributing to team consistency

Follow Safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation to promote safety, health and wellbeing
Essential Requirements

QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People)

Experience in Residential Childcare (ideally 6-18 months+)

Proven experience supporting Autism (ASD) and ESBD/EBD

Clean full UK driving licence (manual)

Good IT literacy (Outlook, email, Word, Excel)

Strong understanding of childhood development, trauma-informed care and therapeutic parenting

Willingness to complete safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS
