Our client is seeking an experienced Materials Buyer. This role is offered as a permanent full-time position.
Salary: £32,000 to £37,000 pa
Location: Near Dartford
Hours: 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
Benefits include: 25 days annual leave, pension, free parking
The purpose of the role is to source and negotiate with new/lapsed suppliers the procurement of electronic components.
BUYER EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Electronic component knowledge

A good standard of secondary education preferably to A’ Level. (CIPS membership an advantage).

Thorough understanding of computerised manufacturing systems (ERP, MPS).

Modern supply methods including JIT and KANBAN

At least 6 months experience in a similar role (manufacturing experience an advantage e.g. electronics).

Ability to communicate at all levels.

Strong negotiation skills.

Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Computer literate including Word, Excel, PDF Writer.
