School Administrator (Maternity Cover)
4 Days per Week (Monday to Thursday) | 8:30am - 4:30pm (potential it could be 5 days per week)
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-established school for an experienced School Administrator to join their supportive office team on a maternity cover contract in Southampton.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become the face of the school, providing a professional and friendly first point of contact for parents, visitors, pupils and external stakeholders. The role sits within a close-knit administration team and offers the chance to work in a rewarding environment supporting children and their families.
The successful candidate will be joining a highly experienced team, with responsibilities focused on reception and administrative support while more specialist tasks are covered by other members of the office team.
Key Responsibilities
Managing the reception area and welcoming visitors
Answering incoming telephone calls and responding to enquiries
Providing administration support to the wider school team
Supporting communications with parents and carers
Maintaining pupil and school records using the school's management information system
Assisting with the administration of breakfast clubs and after-school clubs
Handling confidential student information appropriately
Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school officeAbout You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous administration and reception experience
Excellent organisational and communication skills
A professional, approachable and friendly manner
The ability to multitask in a busy environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Experience handling sensitive and confidential information
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applicationsDesirable Experience
Previous experience working within a school or educational setting
Experience using Bromcom or a similar school Management Information System (MIS)
Knowledge of school administration procedures
