Night Shift Line Operative
Shift: Tuesday – Friday, 8:00pm – 8:00am
Hours: 12-hour night shifts
Job Type: Full-time
We are currently recruiting for a Night Shift Line Operative to join a busy manufacturing facility in flitwick, producing plastic packaging lids for a range of well-known customers.
This is a clean, modern and well-organised working environment, and previous experience within a production, manufacturing or warehouse environment would be highly desirable. Candidates with previous production line experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
The Role
As a Line Operative, you will support the production team to ensure the manufacturing lines operate safely and efficiently throughout the night shift.
Your duties will include:

Assisting with general production line operations

Ensuring blenders and silos are kept filled with the required materials

Correctly issuing raw materials required for production lines

Checking and preparing bulk bins and pallets

Making up cartons and boxes for packing finished goods

Ensuring finished goods are correctly packed and labelled

Scanning and booking finished packs into stock

Using scanning software to maintain accurate stock traceability

Cleaning down machines and material-handling equipment prior to changeovers

Carrying out colour changes when required

Promptly reporting and dealing with minor machine or assembly equipment faults

Carrying out machine cleaning and basic maintenance

Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness across the factory and production areas

Following all health, safety and quality procedures

Supporting other areas of the production operation when required

Completing any other reasonable duties associated with the role
About You
The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience in a production, manufacturing or warehouse environment

Previous line/production experience is highly desirable

A good eye for detail and a strong focus on quality

The ability to follow processes and instructions accurately

A reliable and hardworking attitude

Good communication and teamwork skills

The ability to work independently during night shifts

A good understanding of health and safety within a working environment

Experience using scanners or stock systems would be advantageous

A willingness to work 12-hour night shifts
