Quality Assurance Assistant
Location: CO7 Postcode
Salary: £13.30 per hour, with an increase upon successful completion of probation
Shifts: 5 days per week, including weekends on a rota. Flexibility is required as there are no fixed days off.
Pin Point Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Assistant to join a well-established fresh produce business based in the CO7 area.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in quality assurance, food production, or fresh produce who has a keen eye for detail and is passionate about maintaining high product standards. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Working within the Technical & Quality team, you will be responsible for inspecting incoming fruit, ensuring products meet customer specifications, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the wider Quality team with day-to-day quality activities.
Key Responsibilities
· Carry out quality inspections on incoming fresh produce.
· Assess products against customer specifications, checking quality, size, condition, temperature and defects.
· Collect representative product samples from warehouse stock.
· Record inspection results accurately using company databases and reporting systems.
· Photograph and document quality issues where required.
· Produce quality reports for internal teams and customers.
· Communicate quality findings to Technical, Operations and Commercial teams.
· Escalate any food safety, quality or product concerns immediately.
· Support the Quality Assurance department with routine quality checks when intake inspections are not required.
· Assist with stock quality reviews, investigations and continuous improvement activities.
· Maintain accurate records and technical documentation.
· Work within warehouse and chilled environments while following all health and safety procedures.
What We're Looking For
· Essential
o Previous experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control or Food Manufacturing.
o Excellent attention to detail.
o Strong computer and administration skills.
o Good written and verbal communication skills.
o Ability to work independently and manage your workload.
o Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling duties, including lifting boxes of up to 18kg.
o Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends.
· Desirable
o Experience within fresh produce, fruit packing or food production.
o Knowledge of retailer quality standards or food safety procedures.
o Experience using quality reporting systems or customer portals.
