Fabric Assistant
We're currently recruiting for a Fabric Assistant to join Luxury Fashion brand on a contract basis in London.
Location: London - fully site-based
Pay: £115.38-£170 per day PAYE
Start Date: 2 September 2026
Contract: Until 18 December 2026
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
About the role:
You'll be part of a dedicated team responsible for inspecting Client's fabrics and ensuring they meet the highest quality standards. Your responsibilities will include:
Inspecting off-loom and finished fabrics for quality and faults
Carrying out mandatory quality and shade checks
Identifying and accurately recording fabric faults
Using tailor's chalk to mark defects
Allocating fabric to the correct storage areas
Updating fabric locations and information on relevant systems
Supporting on-loom inspection and fabric mending
Ensuring fabric is presented to a high standard before delivery
Maintaining excellent housekeeping and safe working practices
Working closely with managers and colleagues to achieve daily targetsAbout you:
We're looking for someone with:
Previous textile/fabric or manufacturing experience
Experience working to high-quality standards
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
The ability to follow instructions and established procedures
Good problem-solving skills
Basic Maths and English (GCSE Grade C or equivalent)
