About the roleYou will join a dedicated team of income officers with responsibility for collecting Housing Revenue Account income. In this role, you will:deliver a detailed range of housing and welfare benefits advice to customers, considering individual needs and relevant legislation, the policies and procedures of the council and identify appropriate solutions/support availablewhere necessary, you will use appropriate enforcement powers to recover outstanding debtwork collaboratively with other services, teams and partners to ensure income to the Housing Revenue Account is maximised and tenants have access to all available advice and appropriate support required to sustain their tenancies. About youThe ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification at NVQ4/HNC/degree or equivalent knowledge gained through experience of working within housing or a housing related field.You will also demonstrate experience in:debt case management and tenancy enforcement within a housing environment including preparing cases for court and representing the council in courtproviding assistance and advice, and show understanding and empathy with people facing personal difficultiesproblem solving, demonstrating a proactive approach.
