Position Summary/General Description:
I.T. Senior Network Administrator coordinates the Network Administrators at each site to ensure that I.T. network infrastructure is being properly managed, and directly performs any and all of the I.T. Network Administrator duties at the corporate layer. Performs analysis of network needs and contributes to the design of network architecture, integration, and installation. Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots local area networks and wide area networks to assure continuity of service. Monitors and maintains network stability. Identifies inadequacies and determines appropriate solutions to address them. Communicates and coordinates network schedule, backups, and downtime to users. Serves as third level of escalation for any issues I.T. Technicians cannot resolve without further education or training. Prepares and maintains documentations of network configurations and cabling layouts. Installs and maintains LAN/WAN hardware and software, including servers, peripherals, network nodes, terminals, and wiring.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and assist in the design and implementation of networking technologies and networking-related processes to improve the performance, stability, and scalability to meet the growing needs of the LDC I.T. infrastructure
Oversee the site-level Network Administrators for all LDC sites
Ensure that the following Network Administrator functions are correctly performed at each site, and perform them for equipment and systems within the scope of direct management by the corporate layer:
Manage all Network Configurations and Performance:
Manage network configuration and protocols (TCP/IP, WAN/LAN, VPN, Firewalls, VLANS, QOS, VOIP, Routing, Multicast, Switching, and Spanning-tree)
Configure, monitor, and manage layer 2 networking devices, including switches, WAPs, and bridges
Configure, monitor, and manage layer 3 networking devices and services, including routers, firewalls, and client network connections
Project manage network upgrades and project-related install.
Problem Solving and Technical Skill Development:
Responsible to resolve unfamiliar or unknown system problems using creative thinking and cooperative effort of the I.T. staff
Supervises efforts of System Administrators to resolve system-based problems or errors
Cooperate and maintain communications with technical support companies
Research new technology to improve quality of systems and the I.T. staff
Continue with education and technical training to acquire certifications/degrees
Documentation, Backups, and Disaster Recovery:
Research areas of enhancement to increase system performance and stability
Responsible for documenting system configurations and update as needed
Responsible for managing and updating backups for all necessary systems
Required to test and document successful disaster recovery procedures
Oversees and coordinates efforts of staff in the event disaster recovery procedure(s) are initiate.
Continuing Education:
Keep up to date with relevant new technologies and I.T. industry practices
Research new Information Technology practices to improve technical operations
Additional Responsibilities:
Create detailed tickets pertaining to system problems or projects using ticket tracking system
Take on network related trouble tickets or escalated system problems
Provide departmental training and support of I.T. staff members as needed
Documentation and Quality Improvement:
Review existing Knowledge Base documents and update as required
Create Knowledge Base documents for learned technical solutions
Create Knowledge Base documents for previously undocumented processes and procedures
Review current processes and communicate recommended changes to supervisor
At all times maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.g., clients and vendors).
Work odd and unusual hours, including weekends and holidays.
Other duties as assigned or as directed.

Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field from an accredited college or university
Three years’ experience in an enterprise I.T. environment
Three years’ experience in an I.T. security-related position

Licensing & Certification Requirements:
One IT network-related certification is required (e.g. MCP, MCSA, MCDBA, VCP, Server+)
Computer Equipment, Software, and Machinery Requirements:
Experience in Cisco environments and network technologies is required.
Proficient in Microsoft environments and applications is required.
Experience in network packet capturing and analysis is required.
Experience in VMware or other virtual environments is required.
Experience in network penetration testing is a plus.
Experience in Cisco Call manager, and Cisco Unity systems is a plus.
Experience in Cisco wireless infrastructure is a plus.
Experience with Fortinet devices is a plus.
Experience in multicast routing is a plus.
Experience in SAN systems is a plus.
Experience in Linux OS is a plus.
Experience in security and surveillance systems is a plus.
Essential Physical Requirements:
The job requires the ability to hear, sit, stand, talk, walk, see, and repetitively use hands 51-100% of the time.
The job requires the ability to bend over, crouch/stoop, drive, kneel, reach overheard and turn/twist 25-50% of the time.

Work Environment
Occasional flexibility for remote work as determined by business needs. Physical presence will be required for planned projects and as emergencies arise.
The duties are performed primarily indoor with occasional exposure to hot and cold temperatures, loud noises and confined spaces.
Other Requirements:
Applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening.
Obtain and maintain a gaming license through the Pueblo of Laguna’s Gaming Control Board and must provide/maintain a valid New Mexico drivers’ license.
