We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Assistant to join a growing business. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys being out on site, building strong working relationships and promoting a positive health and safety culture.
Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager, you'll support multiple sites by carrying out inspections, assisting with investigations and helping ensure health and safety standards are maintained across the business. This is a varied, hands-on role offering excellent opportunities for career development within an established and expanding organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out regular site inspections and identify areas for improvement.
Work closely with managers to agree and follow up on corrective actions.
Support the delivery of a positive health and safety culture across multiple sites.
Assist with site inductions and toolbox talks where required.
Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending improvements.
Support the review and update of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Assist with COSHH assessments and health and safety documentation.
Help prepare for internal and external audits.
Monitor and track health and safety actions to ensure completion.
Provide day-to-day health and safety support to operational teams.
Skills & Experience
NEBOSH General Certificate or willingness to work towards achieving it.
Previous experience within a health and safety role is desirable.
Confident carrying out site inspections and incident investigations.
Good understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.Our Ideal Candidate
