We are recruiting for a Production Operative to join a leading global manufacturing business based in the Wigan area on a permanent basis.
Salary: c£32,200 per annum, plus overtime, 22 days' holiday plus bank holidays, pension, private healthcare, Christmas shutdown and excellent career progression opportunities.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience as a Production Operative, Machine Operator, Process Operator or Manufacturing Operative who is looking to develop their career within a well-established international company.
Full training will be provided, so while previous manufacturing experience is essential, you'll receive all the support needed to become fully competent in the role.
Working as part of the production team, you'll be responsible for preparing and mixing production blends, operating specialist manufacturing equipment and ensuring products are manufactured safely, accurately and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities for the Production Operative

Preparing and mixing production blends to specified formulations.

Operating and monitoring manufacturing and processing equipment.

Measuring and weighing raw materials accurately.

Carrying out quality checks throughout the production process.

Recording production data and completing relevant documentation.

Loading raw materials into machinery.

Manual handling of materials, with lifting of up to 25kg.

Cleaning equipment and maintaining high housekeeping standards.

Following Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures at all times.

Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve production targets.

Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining an organised work area.

You'll also have:

Previous experience working within a manufacturing, production or processing environment.

Experience operating machinery or production equipment.

A good understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

A positive attitude and willingness to learn new processes.

Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

Physical fitness, as the role involves regular manual handling and lifting of up to 25kg.

A Forklift Truck licence would be advantageous but is not essential, as training can be provided.
Shift Pattern
This role operates on a rotating 12-hour shift pattern over a four-week cycle:

Week 1: 4 Night Shifts, 3 Days Off

Week 2: 3 Day Shifts, 1 Day Off, 3 Night Shifts

Week 3: 3 Days Off, 4 Day Shifts

Week 4: 7 Days Off
