Engineering @ 365 are recruiting on behalf of our client, a large and well-established manufacturer based in the West Midlands, part of a global engineering and steel technology group with an international manufacturing footprint. Our client is a specialist in cold roll forming for the construction sector and has decades of engineering heritage behind them.
The Role
This role is of key importance to the continued growth and development of the business. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience within a busy Toolroom environment with the ability to work under pressure. You'll support day-to-day production activities in the most efficient manner, working within a team to manufacture new parts and carry out repairs and maintenance across the various manufacturing divisions.
What You'll Be Doing

Operating Toolroom equipment to a high standard

Operating a forklift truck and overhead crane to assist with daily duties and deliver tooling to production — training provided

Ensuring, as part of the team, that manufacture is completed in a timely manner so that try-out dates are met

Ensuring, as part of the team, that breakdowns are covered promptly so that production downtime is kept to a minimum

Working to a "right first time" approach on all tasks carried out

Liaising with contractors and suppliers where required, including agreeing timescales and costs

Maintaining full compliance with Health and Safety legislation, housekeeping standards and company rules and procedures

Following verbal and written instructions and working to set-out procedures

Contributing towards continuous improvement of business KPIs and overall team performance
What You'll Need

Experience in all aspects of press and shear tool manufacture, maintenance and fault finding

Experience with CNC and manual machine work, including surface grinding, milling, turning, fixturing and wire EDM

Able to read and understand engineering drawings and work to specified tolerances

Well organised, multi-skilled, self-motivated and professional

Good timekeeping and attendance

Able to prioritise your own workload and work to tight deadlines under pressure

Computer literate, with the ability to communicate and record information effectively

Strong attention to detail — accuracy is paramount

Able to communicate at all levels with a "can do" attitude

Willing to progress your skillset on new equipment and machining methods

Must be eligible to work in the UK, as our client does not hold a sponsorship licence
