Following a series of exciting contract wins, my client is expanding the commercial team and are looking for a proactive Accounts Assistant to join our Grantham office.
This is more than a traditional accounts role. You will play a key part in supporting commercial performance, helping to manage project finances, protect profitability, and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
The Role
As the Accounts Assistant, you will work closely with the commercial and operational teams to ensure projects remain financially successful. Your responsibilities will include: -

Managing contract and project budgets, monitoring costs, and forecasting sales trends.

Protecting profit margins by tracking expenditure and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Supporting the delivery of commercial strategies that drive business growth and profitability.

Managing the accounts system, ensuring invoices and payment applications are processed accurately and on time.

Working closely with Contract Managers to resolve payment queries and support successful project delivery.

Identifying commercial risks and helping implement effective mitigation strategies.

Assisting with the drafting and review of contracts to achieve favourable commercial outcomes while reducing organisational risk.

Producing financial and performance reports to support informed business decisions.
The Ideal Candidate
Will be commercially minded, organised, and confident working with financial information.
Will have: -

A minimum AAT Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
-
2-3 years of experience within an accounting and/or commercial environment.

Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and profit & loss management.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.

Outstanding communication skills with the confidence to build relationships across the business.

A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.

A full UK driving licence.
