We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Workshop Production Operative to join their existing team. Reporting to the Operations Manager and working in a small team – this is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established company. This is a hands-on role suited to candidates with previous experience within a workshop or engineering environment. The successful candidate will be involved in general engineering duties supporting the production teams.

Bench Work:

Debur parts
-
Dress parts through bead blasting and rubbing up
-
Drilling, tapping, reaming and use of a jigsaw

Maintain tools on the bench
-
Drawing documentation
-
Maintenance of the vibro bowl
-
Organise and maintain correct use of part-done and completed items shelving
Materials Checking In:
-
Check dimensions, PO number, part number and contract number
-
Check if certification number is required
-
Record all necessary information on part or drawings
-
Place parts and documentation in correct locations
-
Pallet control
Goods Inward Supporting Function
Cleaning of Parts
-
Use degreaser, washing up liquid, water and various thinners
-
Maintain cleaning station, tooling and equipment
-
Keep area clean and free of hazards/spillages
-
Waste management, including emptying bins and swarf are4a
-
Dispersal of compressor water
-
Support in cleaning CNC machine
-
Monitor tooling, consumables and equipment
-
Notify Purchasing Manager when swarf bins and liquid IBC’s require collection
-
Support packing of parts and materials
About you
-
Previous experience of working within a manufacturing or engineering environment
-
Experience of using hand tools, grinders etc
-
A positive and flexible attitude and able to work independently

Strong attention to details
-
IT Literate – drawing knowledge ideally
