We are working with a welcoming and nurturing SEN Primary School in Bury that is seeking a dedicated SEN Primary Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026. The Role
As an SEN Primary Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and build positive relationships. You will work closely with teachers and therapists to provide tailored support that enables every child to thrive both academically and socially.
You may be supporting pupils with:
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
ADHD
Speech and Language Needs
Communication Difficulties
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Learning Difficulties
What You'll Be Doing
Providing 1:1 and small group support
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Supporting pupils with communication and social development
Helping children engage in lessons and learning activities
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Working collaboratively with teaching staff and wider professionals
Creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

Experience That Would Be Beneficial
SEN school experience
Teaching Assistant experience
Care, support work or youth work experience
Nursery or early years experience
Personal experience supporting individuals with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
