About the Role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and supportive Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school on the Wirral. This rewarding role involves working closely with teachers and pupils to provide targeted academic, social, and emotional support, helping students to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will work with individuals and small groups of pupils, supporting learning across the curriculum and contributing to a positive and inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils across a range of subjects.
Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
Support pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND where required.
Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence.
Help implement individual learning plans and intervention programmes.
Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Promote positive behaviour and support the school's behaviour policies.
Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, youth work, or support setting.
A passion for supporting children's learning and development.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable but not essential.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
