ProBioGen AG is a Berlin-based biotech company specializing in complex therapeutic proteins and viral vector technologies. With strong expertise in cell line development, process development, and GMP manufacturing, we support international biopharma partners in advancing innovative therapies.
As Head of Viral Vector Operations, you will lead and scale a platform-driven organization covering viral vector process development and GMP manufacturing. You will oversee the full lifecycle of client programs — from process development through GMP supply — with responsibility for operational performance, scalability, quality, and client delivery.
Your Responsibilities
- Build and lead the Viral Vector Operations unit
- Drive process development and GMP manufacturing for viral vector platforms (e.g. Lentivurus, MVA)
- Ensure reliable, scalable, and high-quality GMP execution
- Oversee tech transfer, scale-up, and manufacturing readiness
- Drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and right-first-time performance
- Manage timelines, budgets, capacity planning, and resource allocation
- Act as senior interface for international clients and support business growth
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams across process development and manufacturing
- PhD or MSc in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, Virology, or related field
- 10 years of experience in viral vector process development and manufacturing
- Strong GMP and tech transfer expertise
- Proven leadership experience in biotech/CDMO environments
- Strong operational and client-oriented mindset
