Warehouse Operative / FLT Driver (Night Shift)
£16.53 per hour (including shift allowance)
Sunday: 9:00pm – 6:00am | Monday–Thursday: 9:30pm – 6:30am
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Operative / FLT Driver to join a well-established distributor within the timber, panel and building materials sector.
This is a hybrid role combining FLT duties with hands-on warehouse responsibilities. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating an FLT whilst also carrying out manual warehouse tasks, including the handling of large and heavy sheet materials.
The role offers long-term stability and the opportunity to join a busy and supportive night shift team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Operating Counterbalance FLT to load, unload and move stock throughout the warehouse
Picking and preparing customer orders accurately
Handling timber, sheet materials and panel products
Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently
Carrying out stock checks and assisting with inventory control
Using scanners and warehouse systems where required
Maintaining accurate stock locations
Ensuring products are stored safely and securely
Supporting with general warehouse duties and housekeeping
Following all health & safety procedures at all times
Skills:
Skills & Experience
Previous warehouse experience within a fast-paced environment
Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (in-house licences considered)
Experience handling timber, board, MDF, plywood, laminate or other panel products
Comfortable carrying out heavy manual handling duties
Good attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable with a strong work ethic
Good understanding of warehouse health & safety procedures
Qualifications:
Counterbalance FLT Licence
Reach Truck Licence advantageous but not essential
Previous experience working with timber, panel products or building materials preferred
