Job Overview
Mackenzie Fit Recruitment are looking for a dedicated Waste Operative to join our client's team at their recently refurbished Loanhead facilities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe collection, handling, and disposal of waste materials coming from construction sites and Council renovations. This position requires physical stamina and a commitment to maintaining good health and safety standards within the operation.
Pay: £12.71 per hour plus £19.07 per hour for overtime after 40 hours
Hours: 7.45am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday plus additional shifts as required
The role leads to a permanent employment after 13 weeks

Duties

Collect and transport waste materials from designated locations to appropriate disposal sites.

Operate waste management machinery and equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety.

Perform routine inspections of waste containers and equipment for maintenance needs.

Assist in sorting recyclable materials from construction waste to promote sustainability efforts.

Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.

Report any incidents or hazards encountered during operations to the supervisor.
Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge to operate and troubleshoot waste management equipment effectively.
