SEN Support Assistant – Specialist School Setting

Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Support Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Cranleigh. Role Details
Location: Cranleigh, Surrey
Pay: £14.00 – £15.50 per hour
Contract Type: Long-term opportunity / temp - perm placement
Working Hours:
Monday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Tuesday – Thursday: 8:30am – 4:15pm
Friday: 8:30am – 3:45pm
Please note: Due to the rural location of the school, applicants must have access to their own transport.
About the Position
In this rewarding role, you will provide day-to-day support for pupils with complex social, emotional, mental health, and additional learning needs. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you’ll help create a positive and structured learning environment where students can thrive.
Responsibilities will include:
Providing tailored support to students both inside and outside the classroom
Encouraging positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
Supporting students across different age groups and learning abilities
Building trusted relationships that promote confidence and wellbeing
Assisting the wider team in maintaining a safe and inclusive environment

We are looking for someone who is:
Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about working with young people
Adaptable and able to remain calm in challenging situations
A strong communicator who works well within a team
Interested in supporting children with SEN and additional needs
Previous experience within an SEN or care setting is welcomed, although not essential.
