Overview
Our long-standing client is looking to appoint an Assembly Operative to join their manufacturing operations team within a highly regulated engineering environment.
This role will focus on the re-assembly, finishing, and preparation of engineered steel products and associated hardware for final delivery, ensuring all products are completed to the required quality and project standards.
Working as part of the shop floor operations team, you will be responsible for assembling products from engineering drawings, fitting custom components, completing project documentation, and ensuring finished products are prepared for dispatch.
Key Responsibilities
Assembly & Product Finishing

Re-assemble engineered doors and products using supplied stock components and materials

Fit insulation materials, hardware, and custom components in line with engineering drawings

Use hand tools and measuring equipment to complete assembly activities

Finish products to the required quality standards for customer delivery

Pack completed products safely for dispatch
Documentation & Quality

Complete product and project documentation accurately

Follow fitting instructions, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures

Maintain quality standards throughout the assembly process
Health & Safety

Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Adhere to all health and safety procedures on the shop floor

Support manual handling activities where required

Report any hazards or safety concerns to supervisors
Essential Requirements

Experience using small hand tools and measuring equipment

Ability to read and follow general assembly drawings and fitting instructions

Strong awareness of health and safety procedures

Good time management and organisational skills

Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Good to have (not a deal breaker):

Experience within steel manufacturing or similar engineering/manufacturing environments

Knowledge of door hardware and locking systems
-
FLT licence / forklift experience

Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies

£35,685.85 annual salary (£18.48 per hour)

4-day working week (Monday – Thursday), Friday OFF!

37-hour working week

Overtime available during busy periods
