A primary school in Tower Hamlets is looking for a confident SEMH Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil requiring additional support, including epilepsy awareness and monitoring.
This role is ideal for someone calm, patient and experienced working with challenging behaviour and emotional regulation.
Requirements:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Support Worker
- Epilepsy training with hands-on experience supporting a pupil with seizures
- Strong understanding of SEMH needs and behaviour management
- Ability to stay calm and respond quickly in medical situations
- Experience providing 1:1 support within a classroom or specialist setting
- A proactive and resilient attitude
Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 classroom support to a pupil with SEMH needs
- Monitoring and supporting a pupil with epilepsy in line with the care plan
- Supporting the pupil's emotional regulation and engagement in learning
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Implementing behaviour strategies and positive reinforcement
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the pupil at all times
