Working as part of the supply chain team, the Stores Operative will play a key role in managing incoming deliveries, maintaining stock control and supporting production through timely replenishment of materials. The position requires a high level of attention to detail, organisation and a proactive approach within a busy environment.
The Stores Operative will be responsible for:
- Receiving, checking and accepting deliveries of components and materials
- Booking goods into the system and routing parts to the next stage in the process (e.g. inspection)
- Storing materials in allocated locations while maintaining FIFO, traceability and handling requirements
- Monitoring line‑side stock levels and replenishing materials in line with Kanban or 2‑bin systems
- Conducting inventory checks and supporting stock accuracy through regular counts
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workspace in line with 5S and company standards
The Stores Operative will have:
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or goods receiving environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle precision or sensitive components.
- Basic IT skills, including experience with ERP or stock management systems.
- Good numerical skills and stock control awareness.
- Understanding of health & safety practices within a manufacturing environment.
- A proactive, reliable approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
