The Murphy Investment Administrator will support Murphy’s Group Investments activities across the existing portfolio and new investment opportunities as they arise. The Investment Administrator will sit at the heart of the
Group Investments function, working across sourcing, screening, reporting, and portfolio support. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on exposure to internal, venture and growth investing. From day one, the successful candidate will work closely with senior investment professionals and business leaders, contributing directly to live investment decisions, governance processes, and portfolio performance. The role is designed to build strong commercial judgement, analytical capability, and a deep understanding of how investments are originated, assessed, approved, and managed in practice.
A day in the life of a Murphy Investment Administrator
Manage inbound investment opportunities and maintain a structured deal pipeline.
Produce market maps, competitor analysis, and sector landscape updates to support sourcing and strategic decision‑making.
Support quarterly reviews of priority sectors and emerging investment themes.
Run initial triage assessments on early‑stage opportunities, assessing strategic fit, management capability, market opportunity, product alignment, financial projections, and proposed deal terms.
Prepare concise screening summaries and recommendations for review by the Group Investments team.
Maintain the investment deal management platform, ensuring information is accurate, complete, and audit‑ready.
Track opportunity status, key documentation, and decision history.:
Prepare draft weekly pipeline reports analysing inflow by sector, growth stage, strategic alignment, and funding requirements.
Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting covering pipeline activity, capital deployment, and key investment KPIs.
Assist with the preparation of board pack materials, including performance updates and investment summaries.
Support governance processes by maintaining trackers for approvals, conditions precedent, and post‑investment actions.
Maintain portfolio risk and opportunity registers, supporting quarterly reviews and updates in collaboration with senior team members.
Assist with portfolio monitoring activities, including performance tracking and issue escalation.
Support the development of investment business cases and Capex funding requests, including financial analysis and presentation materials.
Assist with scenario analysis and supporting documentation as required.
Produce draft monthly financial and commercial analysis, including variance commentary, under the guidance of the Investments team.
Support ad hoc analysis to inform investment decisions and strategic initiatives.
Work closely with investment business leads and central teams to support strategic initiatives and business development activity.
Provide general analytical and presentation support to the Group Investments team as required.

Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Economics, STEM, Business or related discipline) or equivalent.
Strong analytical capability with well developed Excel skills.
Confident producing presentations and written materials using PowerPoint.
Understanding of core investment concepts (e.g. IRR, equity and debt structures, unit economics).
Demonstrable interest in venture, growth, or infrastructure related investing.
Strong written and verbal communication skills along with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
Internship or placement experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, consulting, or a high growth business.
Understanding of cap tables, term sheets, and early stage valuation approaches.
Awareness of ESG considerations relevant to investing.
Interest in, or exposure to, the Infratech or construction adjacent markets.
