Job Description:
As part of the Manufacturing Engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the manufacture of current and future products across our entire product range and the full programme lifecycle. We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our product facing Manufacturing Engineering team. Combining strong manufacturing knowledge with a structured and detail focused approach, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring manufacturing engineering activities are completed effectively to support business and operational requirements.

- Working within our Manufacturing Engineering team to support programmes across different lifecycles of a product
- Creating and maintaining manufacturing assembly instructions to ensure efficient and effective manufacture of our products through the use of PDM, ERP & MES tools
- Developing, maintaining and improving shop floor manufacturing cells and equipment to provide a safe and lean manufacturing environment
- Reviewing build times & support activity durations, working to improve processes to achieve production goals by identifying inefficiencies and driving targeted improvements
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
- Providing hands on technical assistance and problem-solving support to the technicians and driving sustainable corrective actions using structured problem solving such as Lean Manufacturing, Process Mapping, 8D
Essential Skills:
- Qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or time served in a similar role (HNC/Degree)
- Knowledge and understanding of modern Manufacturing Engineering practices, tools and technology gained from experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in interpreting engineering drawings to create manufacturing assembly instructions/standard operating procedures
- Demonstrable success in utilising Lean manufacturing tools and techniques in the context of process improvement, cost savings or waste elimination
- Familiarity of AutoCAD or similar CAD packages
The Manufacturing Engineering Team:
As part of the Manufacturing Engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the manufacture of current and future products across our entire product range and the full programme lifecycle. Working closely with stakeholders across Manufacturing and Engineering you will use your knowledge and experiences to support our manufacturing systems and processes during initial bid, new product introduction, production and repair to ultimately ensure product quality is met within schedule and budget targets.
