Counterbalance FLT / Yard Operative – Permanent Role Location: Barking Salary: £28,000–£30,000 (DOE) Hours: 42.5 per week, Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:00/4:30pm
A well‑established scaffolding hire and sales company in Barking is looking to add a reliable and experienced Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) / Yard Operative to their team.
About the Role
This is a dual-position, with your time split evenly between FLT operation and general yard duties. You’ll be working with scaffolding materials, supporting the smooth running of the yard, and ensuring safe, efficient loading and unloading.
Key Responsibilities
Operating a Counterbalance FLT (minimum 3.5t, up to 4t)
Loading and unloading scaffolding equipment
Organising, maintaining, and moving stock around the yard
Supporting yard operations including picking, packing, and general labouring
Ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently
Requirements
Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (3.5t minimum)
Previous experience in a yard, construction, or scaffolding environment preferred
Strong awareness of health & safety
Reliable, hardworking, and able to work as part of a team
