Sue Ross Recruitment are working with their client, a leading local law firm, who are seeking a reliable and proactive Conveyancing Assistant to join their busy and friendly team.
This is a fully office‑based role, working Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (35 hours per week).
The successful candidate will support the conveyancing team with the day‑to‑day management of files and client care, ensuring a smooth and professional service is delivered at all times.
Duties will include:

Handling incoming calls from estate agents and Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs)

Dealing with general client and third‑party enquiries and providing updates via telephone and email

Preparing matters for exchange and completion, assisting with exchanges and completions

Managing sale files, remortgages, transfers and assents under supervision where required

Assisting fee earners with purchase files as needed

Taking client payments over the telephone

Processing incoming and outgoing monies via the case management system

Handling new enquiries, providing accurate quotations by phone and online, and recording sources of business and reasons for non‑instruction

Assisting with post‑completion matters

Preparing correspondence and legal documents using Visualfiles
-
Maintaining team filing systems, including daily filing tasks

Preparing outgoing post and enclosures

Providing copying and general administrative support
-
Offering guidance and support to junior or temporary assistants when required

Meeting and communicating with clients in person and by telephone in a professional, friendly and efficient manner

Handling telephone enquiries from external contacts while maintaining the firm’s high standards of client care
You will be well organised, approachable and confident communicating with clients and third parties. Previous experience in a conveyancing support role is essential, along with strong administrative skills and attention to detail. A professional manner and commitment to excellent client care are essential.
