Our client is looking for a Payroll Administrator who will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the company’s payroll function. This standalone role ensures all employees are paid accurately and on time, while maintaining full compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies. The role requires a high level of ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage payroll processes independently.
The ideal candidate will be someone who can fully comply with the company Management Systems, incorporating Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Requirements.
Rate of Pay: £27k-32k per annum depending on experience
Your duties will include the following:
Reporting & Month-End process producing payroll reports, reconciliations, and analysis for HR, Finance and senior management and supporting month-end processes, including journals and headcount reporting and providing payroll data for budgeting, forecasting, and audits.
The role also includes Stakeholder Management where you will Act as the main point of contact for all payroll-related queries, provide guidance and support to employees on payroll matters, including benefits and deductions and liaise with HR, Finance, HMRC, and external providers (e.g., pension providers, payroll system provide. You will also help support internal and external audits as required.
Experience and Knowledge Requirements:
· GCSE Grade C or above in English & Maths (or equivalent)
· Proven experience managing payroll end-to-end in a standalone or lead role
· Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
· Experience preparing and submitting P60s and P11Ds
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail
· Proficiency in Sage 50 payroll system and Microsoft Excel (Pivot table, xlookup)
· Ability to work independently and take full ownership of processes
· Strong organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
· Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential data
Desirable:
· Experience managing pensions and auto-enrolment
· AAT qualification (or working towards)
· Experience with payroll reporting and finance system integrations
