Job Description
Reporting to the Business Unit Director, the Head of Warehouse will ensure the smooth running of a department across our Telford and Lutterworth sites whilst managing/motivating a team to drive operational performance.
There will be a requirement to travel to the CML Lutterworth site on a weekly basis in line with business requirements.
This is a full time, permanent role working a 40 hour week, Monday to Friday.
Key Duties of Head of Warehouse:
Being responsible for the whole of the Warehouse Business encompassing both inbound and outbound operations.
Managing a total annual warehouse spend.
Managing financial, control analysis, evaluation and reporting.
Developing annual warehouse plans and budgets.
Reviewing all aspects of the Warehouse Operation driving improvements in methods, procedures and efficiency.
Identifying areas of cost saving and new methods of working.
Setting and agreeing targets and KPIs for the Warehouse Operation in line with company strategy.
Responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of all warehouse operations.
Ensuring the smooth running of the warehouse operations including financial management, performance management and Health, Safety & Welfare.
Provide strong visible leadership to manage all staff through performance, management and training.
Reviewing performance of warehouse and business, along with customers’ expectations against targets achieved. Constantly reviewing, communicating and improving performance.
Maintaining a high standard of repair and maintenance of both the fabric of the building and all equipment.
Qualifications
Previous warehouse operational experience within a senior management role.
Experience in leading, managing and developing a large team.
Proven experience in managing and exceeding budgetary requirements.
Financially astute with commercial management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in change management and delivering continuous improvement.
Experience in formulating and developing strategy.
Sound understanding of MHE and associated procurement processes.
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment.
A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements.
Considerable experience of working within a short lead time environment.
Project management experience.
Familiar with warehouse management systems and MS packages.
