Learning Support Assistant – SEMH School

Now Education are currently working with a specialist SEMH secondary school in Liverpool (L4) who are looking to recruit a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support, while helping them engage positively with their education.
About the Role:

Support pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs within the classroom and around the school

Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs

Act as a positive role model and mentor, building strong relationships with pupils

Support pupils in regulating behaviour and engaging with learning
-
Assist teachers in delivering lessons and adapting resources
-
Promote a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people, ideally with SEMH or behavioural needs

A calm, patient, and resilient approach

Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

Ability to build trust and positive relationships with pupils

A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners

Team player with a proactive and flexible attitude
