About Us
Striving For Independence (SFI) is a supported living care provider dedicated to empowering people with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, and behaviours that challenge to live independently in their own homes and within the community.

The Role
This is a fast-paced and varied role at the heart of our operation. You will support the smooth running of our supported living services and activity centre — coordinating, organising, and keeping the wheels turning so that our care teams can focus on what matters most.

What You'll Do
Run the office and keep things moving

Maintain physical and digital filing systems, databases, and records

Type, format, and produce reports, care plans, and documentation

Handle calls, mail, and general office tasks (scanning, photocopying, ordering supplies)

Manage diaries for managers and the wider team
Coordinate referrals, meetings, and activities

Manage incoming referrals via email and telephone, log them accurately, book assessments

Book meetings, appointments, and reviews; attend meetings and take clear minutes

Help coordinate the activity centre programme and service user appointments
Stay on top of compliance

Maintain logs for maintenance, complaints, feedback, incidents, and accidents

Book servicing and compliance checks (PAT testing, MOT, road tax, maintenance)

Monitor expiry dates so nothing lapses

Organise and book staff training; maintain training records and certificates

Escalate serious issues to senior management promptly
Support the team and the service

Record receipts, petty cash, and basic financial transactions

Support marketing posts and staff engagement initiatives

Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
What You'll Bring

GCSEs grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
-
Previous administrative experience (preferred)

Strong IT skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)

Excellent communication and organisational skills

High attention to detail and the ability to multitask

A proactive, solution-focused approach

A friendly, professional manner

Experience in a care or supported living environment (desirable)

Understanding of learning disabilities and autism (desirable)
