We're seeking a calm, patient, and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN secondary school in Rochdale - starting immediately. This role is ideal for psychology graduates looking to build hands-on experience, as well as experienced SEN Teaching Assistants ready to make an immediate difference.
You'll work closely with class teachers to support students aged 11-16, providing both 1:1 and in-class support. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), sensory impairments, and complex learning needs. Your role will be key in creating a positive, engaging environment where every student feels supported and able to thrive.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support students' academic, social, and emotional development through:
1:1 support and small group interventions
Supporting students with EHCPs
Assisting with personal care where required
Working with teachers and SEN staff
Encouraging positive behaviour and communication
Creating a safe, inclusive learning environmentWhat We're Looking For
Experience in SEN, mainstream, or alternative provision settings
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude
Patience, empathy, and resilience
A Level 2/3 TA qualification or a degree in Psychology/Education (desirable)What the School Offers
