CCTV / Drainage Investigations Operative
Purpose and Scope of the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced CCTV / Drainage Investigations Operative to join a newly established three-person CCTV team supporting drainage surveys across the North West.
In this role, you will operate specialist CCTV equipment to inspect sewer and drainage networks, identify defects, and produce accurate data and reports. This is a hands-on, customer-facing position combining fieldwork, manual handling, plan annotation, and detailed record keeping. You will be working outdoors in all weather conditions, contributing to the delivery of high-quality investigations across public sewer and domestic drainage systems.
Your Impact in this Position
In the short term, you will play a key role in delivering reliable survey outputs and supporting the development of a new team.
Over time, you will gain exposure to a variety of drainage environments, strengthen working relationships, and further develop your technical expertise in network investigation.
Longer term, the role offers a clear pathway for progression within a supportive and accredited training environment, with opportunities to take on increased responsibility across significant infrastructure projects.
Core Capabilities Required for Success
Technical Survey Delivery

Proven experience in CCTV drainage investigations or a closely related role

Confident in using survey equipment and producing accurate, high-quality outputs
Health, Safety and Site Awareness

Good working knowledge of confined spaces, highway working, and safe systems of work

Awareness of manual handling requirements and working in outdoor site conditions
Communication and Client Service

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to interact professionally and complete reports, annotations, and documentation accurately
Organisation and Problem Solving

High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, field-based environment

Willingness to work early starts, late finishes, occasional Saturdays, and overtime as required
Qualifications and Training
Essential:

Full UK driving licence

Relevant experience in outdoor, utility, or manual labour environments
