About the Role
Very fiddly, accuracy based role where smaller, steady hands are strongly beneficial
We are currently recruiting a Machine Operative to join a busy and well‑established automotive components manufacturer based in Ashford. This role is primarily focused on operating a press machine used to cut joints for car gaskets, producing precision components for the automotive industry.
This is a precision based role that requires a high level of accuracy, focus, and attention to detail, as the quality of the finished product depends heavily on correct alignment and machine operation.
Key Responsibilities
Operating a press machine to cut joints into car gaskets
Carefully placing gaskets into the machine and aligning them perfectly before pressing
Ensuring all components meet quality and accuracy standards
Carrying out regular visual quality checks during production
Following all health & safety procedures at all times
Maintaining a clean and organised work area
Completing production paperwork where required
Assisting with occasional picking and packing duties (secondary to the main machine work)
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (preferred but not essential)
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
Good hand‑eye coordination
Comfortable working with machinery after training
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Full training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude and work ethic.
