The Ideal Candidate
Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support the conveyancing team across a range of residential or commercial property matters. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring transactions progress efficiently while maintaining high standards of client service.
This is a hands-on support role, ideal for someone who is highly organised, eager to learn, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Case Support & Administration:
Provide administrative and legal support to Conveyancers and Fee Earners
Open new client files and carry out identity verification and AML checks
Prepare and issue client care letters and initial documentation
Transaction Support:
Assist with ordering searches, title documents, and property information
Draft basic legal documents and correspondence under supervision
Monitor case progress and assist with chasing outstanding enquiries and documentation
Client & Stakeholder Liaison:
Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders, surveyors, and solicitors
Provide updates and maintain a high level of client service throughout the transaction
Completion & Post-Completion Support:
Assist with exchange and completion preparations
Support post-completion work, including SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications
Organisation & Systems:
Maintain accurate file records and update case management systems
Ensure all work is completed in line with regulatory and firm procedures
Ideal Background & Experience
Essential
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems
Desirable
Previous experience in a legal assistant or conveyancing support role
Experience in residential or commercial conveyancing
Knowledge of AML procedures and Land Registry processes
A legal qualification or ongoing legal studies (e.g. Law degree, CILEX)
