Learning Support Assistant (1:1) Needed – Burton-on-Trent

Position: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (Year 9)
Pay: £90 - £110 per day (dependent on experience)

The Supply Register are working in partnership with John Taylor Free School to recruit a caring and committed Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide 1:1 support for a Year 9 student.
About the Role
You will be supporting a student with:
Scoliosis
Heart disease
Duchenne muscular dystrophy
The student uses an electric wheelchair and requires support throughout the school day, including personal care and mobility assistance.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 classroom support, ensuring the student can access learning.
Assist with personal care needs in a respectful and dignified manner.
Support with manual handling and mobility, including hoist use (training required).
Encourage independence and engagement in lessons.
Work closely with teaching staff and the SEN team.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: Experience working with young people or individuals with additional needs is desirable.
Training required : Manual handling and hoist training.
Communication Skills: Strong ability to work with staff and students.
Compassion: A patient, caring, and understanding approach.
Reliability: Professional and dependable.
Additional Requirements
Face-to-face interview at the school is required.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
