Job Title: Edgebander Operator
Location: Derby- 10 mins from Derby City Centre
Job Type: Full-time / Permanent
Salary: £14ph - £20ph DOE
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Edgebander Operator to join our clients production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining edgebanding machinery to ensure high-quality finishes on a range of panel products. Experience working with fire doors and edge banding to fire-rated standards would be a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities:

Set up, operate, and monitor edgebanding machines efficiently and safely

Apply edge banding to panels in line with production specifications

Ensure consistent quality and finish on all components

Adjust machine settings for different materials, thicknesses, and edge types

Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of machinery

Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards

Work from technical drawings, cutting lists, and job sheets

Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Collaborate with other team members to meet production targets and deadlines
Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience operating edgebanding machinery (essential)

Good understanding of woodworking or panel processing machinery

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Good problem-solving skills and mechanical awareness

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Understanding of health & safety procedures in a manufacturing environment, desirable (Not Essential)

Experience edge banding fire doors or working with fire-rated products

Knowledge of fire door compliance and certification standards

Experience in a joinery or furniture manufacturing environment
