We're looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to support the day‑to‑day finance administration within the business. This role is focused on maintaining accurate records, managing the accounts inbox and supporting both purchase and sales ledger activity.
We are looking for someone methodical, organised and comfortable working within an accounting system, supporting the smooth running of the finance function.
Key responsibilities
Managing the shared accounts inbox and handling daily queries
Entering purchase ledger invoices into the system
Matching purchase invoices to goods received notes and investigating any discrepancies
Responding to supplier and customer requests, including sending statements and chasing copy invoices
Filing sales ledger remittances onto the system
Chasing overdue sales ledger accounts and supporting credit control activity
Compiling and maintaining customs and excise documentation and ensuring paperwork is complete
Carrying out general finance administration and record‑keeping
What we're looking for
Strong attention to detail and a good level of accounting knowledge
Previous experience in an accounts or finance support role
Comfortable using a Sage‑type accounting package
Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel
Highly organised and methodical, with a structured approach to work
Able to manage routine tasks accurately and consistently
This role would suit someone with a solid background in purchase ledger, sales ledger or accounts administration who enjoys keeping things organised and supporting the finance team with reliable, accurate work.
