Howard James Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing business to recruit a Finance Assistant (Accounts Assistant) to join their busy and dynamic finance team.

The Role
As a Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Working closely with the wider finance team, you’ll be involved in a variety of accounting tasks, helping to ensure accuracy across financial records and contributing to efficient processes.
Key Responsibilities

Processing supplier invoices, purchase orders and payments accurately and in a timely manner

Reconciling financial transactions and maintaining up-to-date records within the accounting system

Supporting month-end and year-end processes, including preparation of reports

Carrying out bank reconciliations and assisting with petty cash management

Providing support with budgeting and forecasting activities

Acting as a point of contact for supplier and customer queries, resolving issues efficiently

Assisting with payroll administration and VAT return preparation

Ensuring adherence to internal procedures and financial regulations

Contributing to continuous improvement of finance processes and supporting project work where required
Skills & Experience
-
Previous experience within an accounts or finance role is advantageous

Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software such as Sage would be beneficial

Good numerical and analytical skills

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks

Confident communicator with a collaborative approach

Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
