Executive Assistant
Location: Derby
Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum + bonus + benefits
The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a growing and highly innovative SME for an experienced and capable Executive Assistant to support a Technical Director in a pivotal role. This is a hands-on position requiring close collaboration with a senior leader in a fast-paced and demanding environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of daily operations, supporting strategic priorities, and driving actions across the business.
This opportunity would suit a professional, articulate individual who is proactive, highly organised, and confident working at pace while managing multiple priorities. As Executive Assistant you will need to have the ability to work autonomously and take responsibility to ensure actions are followed up and completed.
The Role
The Executive Assistant will act as a trusted partner to the Managing Director, providing high-level administrative and organisational support, while also contributing to wider business activities.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing a complex and dynamic diary, ensuring effective prioritisation of time and commitments
Overseeing inbox management, correspondence, and follow-up actions
Acting as a central point of contact between the Director and internal and external stakeholders
Coordinating and supporting projects from initial brief through to delivery
Driving actions forward and ensuring tasks are completed, holding colleagues to account in a professional and respectful manner
Organising meetings, preparing agendas/reports, and tracking outcomes and actions
Arranging travel, accommodation, and business events as required
Supporting with light HR administrative duties
Handling confidential information with the highest level of discretion Requirements
The successful candidate will be a highly organised and proactive individual, comfortable operating within a busy SME environment.
Key requirements:
A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Personal Assistant or Executive Assistant role supporting senior leadership preferably within and SME environment
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High levels of emotional intelligence, with the ability to influence and manage relationships effectively
A confident and professional approach, with the ability to challenge constructively where appropriate
Proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative
