ANZUK Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Greenwich seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from an immediate start. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work within a dedicated SEND provision, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs in a structured and nurturing environment.
The school is known for its strong inclusive ethos and well-established SEND provision, creating an environment where support staff can make a meaningful impact on pupil development, independence and wellbeing.
This SEND Teaching Assistant role in Greenwich would suit experienced Teaching Assistants or Learning Support Assistants with proven SEND experience who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities of SEND Teaching Assistant:
Support pupils with special educational needs within the SEND provision on a 1:1 and small group basis.
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored and differentiated learning activities.
Maintain high expectations for pupil progress, behaviour and engagement.
Support pupils’ social, emotional and personal development.
Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual support plans.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have a relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) or a degree.
Have proven experience working with children with SEND in a school setting (essential).
Demonstrate strong understanding of SEND strategies and inclusive practice.
Maintain high expectations for pupil progress, behaviour and engagement.
Show a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Work effectively as part of a team and communicate well with staff and families.
