About the Role
We are seeking an experienced FLT Counterbalance Driver / Works Operative to join our team in Kirkby in Ashfield. This is a varied role combining forklift truck operation with general factory and warehouse support.
The successful candidate must hold a valid UK driving licence and a current FLT Counterbalance licence, with proven experience operating forklift trucks in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day running of warehouse operations
- Operating a Counterbalance FLT safely and efficiently
- Carrying out daily forklift safety checks
- Loading and unloading manufactured and purchased goods
- Assisting with customer collections
- Picking and preparing stock using picking notes
- Processing delivery notes and goods in/out
- Maintaining stock condition during handling and storage
- Distributing goods throughout the site
- Keeping work areas clean, tidy, and obstruction-free
- Following site security procedures
- Supporting production staff within the factory
- Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards
- Applying quality control to incoming and outgoing goods
Requirements
- Valid UK driving licence (essential)
- Valid FLT Counterbalance licence (essential)
- Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proactive and flexible approach to work
