Care Assistant
Support vulnerable people in Fife to build skills, increase independence and move on to their own homes. You'll work with service users to set goals, build confidence and get involved in meaningful daytime activities that make a real difference to their lives. This role is offered on a flexible basis so you can pick shifts that fit around you.
Role details
Based in Fife, paying up to £15 per hour on a flexible agency shift pattern.
The role
As a Care Assistant you'll support clients to develop life skills and overcome barriers to independent living. The role exists to provide person-centred support, helping people set and work towards their own goals. You'll be part of a pool of carers covering shifts for services across the Fife area.
What you'll be doing
Working with clients to build skills so they can progress towards independent housing.
Using strength and needs assessments with clients to identify aspirations and set individual goals.
Supporting clients to follow through on agreed support plans and reviewing progress.
Motivating and enabling clients to take part in meaningful daytime activities.
Supporting access to skills development, training, volunteering, employment and healthy activities.
Communicating with tact and sensitivity while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
What we're looking for
At least 6 months' paid experience in care or support work.
Confident communication skills with tact and sensitivity.
Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour.
A person-centred approach and commitment to promoting independence.
Flexibility to work a range of shifts in the Fife area.
