Finance Assistant
We’re working with a well-established construction and fit-out business looking to add a Finance Assistant to their team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with purchase ledger experience in construction who wants to be part of a busy, well-structured finance function. You’ll be supporting the Head of Finance and working closely with operational teams, giving you real exposure to how finance links into live projects.
The role offers a good mix of routine and variety, with involvement across subcontractor accounts, compliance processes, and wider finance support. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in accuracy and organisation.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for:
- Processing a high volume of supplier and subcontractor invoices
- Reconciling supplier accounts and resolving discrepancies
- Managing invoice queries and chasing missing information
- Supporting subcontractor processes, including valuations and retentions
- Liaising with Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors to verify costs
- Maintaining accurate supplier and subcontractor records
- Supporting VAT processes, including Reverse Charge VAT
- Assisting with monthly CIS submissions and related administration
- Processing timesheets and reconciling company credit cards
About You
- 2–3 years’ experience in Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger
- Previous experience within construction or fit-out
- Good understanding of CIS and Reverse Charge VAT
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident using Excel and finance systems such as Xero
- Proactive approach with the ability to manage your own workload
