More about your role
As our Disrepair Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the end to end management of all disrepair cases, ensuring timely responses, accurate evidence and high quality outcomes for customers. You will oversee case allocation, performance, KPIs, quality assurance and trend monitoring to reduce breaches and prevent cases arising, while working closely with solicitors, surveyors and internal teams including Repair Operations Delivery to ensure documentation meets legal requirements.
You will lead the operational delivery of Alternative Dispute Resolution, support court preparation and represent PfP as an expert witness where required, while ensuring compliance with key legislation such as the Fit for Human Habitation Act 2019 and disrepair protocols. Working collaboratively across Repair Operations, the field, contractor management and strategic operations, you will drive a joined up approach to managing disrepair risk, take accountability for budgets, compensation and forecasting, and promote a proactive culture focused on prevention, best practice and reducing legal exposure across the organisation.
This is a hybrid role based from our Preston office, with an expectation to attend the office two days per week.
Essential Criteria
- Relevant technical qualification with demonstrable knowledge of housing disrepair, building pathology and related legislation
- Proven experience managing housing disrepair cases within a social housing environment
- Experience applying housing legislation in practice, including the Fit for Human Habitation Act 2019
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with solicitors, operational teams and internal stakeholders
- Previous experience managing or supervising people, workloads or performance
- Experience analysing disrepair or housing data to identify trends and drive improvements or cost reduction
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working with solicitors or attending court as an expert witness.
- Knowledge of ADR processes.
- Familiarity with case management systems and producing legal level evidence packs.
- Experience leading teams through service improvement or transformation.

You have proven experience managing housing disrepair cases within a social housing or legal environment, with a strong understanding of building pathology, damp and mould, and the legislation governing disrepair. You are highly organised and quality focused, able to manage fast moving and high volume caseloads while analysing data to identify trends, reduce breaches and control cost. You communicate confidently and effectively with residents, solicitors, surveyors, operational teams and senior leaders, and you are motivated to bring people together, support others and help build a proactive, high performing team that reflects our People Promises and commitment to great service.
