Our client, a reputable firm of accountants based in Milton Keynes, is seeking a Permanent Assistant Accountant/Book keeper to join their team. You will be AAT qualified.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the bookkeeping and accounting functions using a cloud-based platform. Your key responsibilities will include reviewing transactions posted by junior team members, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and assisting in the preparation of VAT returns. You will also serve as a point of contact for clients, handling a variety of queries via email and telephone, and contribute to ensuring client records are accurate and up-to-date. Additionally, you will assist senior team members in finalising books for year-end accounts and undertake ad hoc administrative duties as required. The role demands a proactive individual with strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
AAT qualified
Experience in bookkeeping, particularly with balance sheet reconciliations
Reviewing transactions posted by junior members of the team
Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
Being a point of contact for clients, communicating via email and telephone.
Dealing with wide variety of client queries
Coordinating with process level staff to ensure they have everything needed in order to keep client records up to date and accurate.
Preparation of VAT returns filing.
Assisting senior team members with finalising books for yearend accounts.
